Tests for wagtail based django-cast video support for are complete. Recorded 5 streams this week building them. Had to wrestle a bit with executing single tests being slow because of the huge migration history of wagtail. Found a workaround (--nomigrations) but am not really happy with it yet. Didn't have time to play around with audio / video for streams *sigh*.

Got all tests working again in the django-cast develop branch. Recorded 5 streams fixing tests this week. Solved the how to keep streamfield and database structure in sync problem (basically) + tests. Learned how to use --reuse-db, --no-migrations with sqlite test databases (it's in memory by default..). Didn't do any video / audio experiments this week, too. This has to change..

Changed the heading of the collected links for this week from "Interesting Content" to "Things I Looked at Last Week", because I often find this stuff not interesting at all. But since I only know it afterwards.. well.

Worked on fixing the tests for django-cast and recorded four streams doing it. Produced a new podcast episode about the python import system. I'm pretty satisfied with the podcast audio quality when we record on site, maybe we are able to omit auphonic for post production. Found out how to generate content of wagtail stream fields programatically for tests. Didn't do any experiments on video or audio setup last week, should do some more this week :).

The wagtailmedia pull request was merged \o/. Started to work again on django-cast and recorded four streams doing it. After being able to use the video upload feature again I started fixing tests to be able to write some new ones for the video feature. Tried a new black diffusion filter on my camera for the stream and added a new background light to make the effect visible.Switched back to using my SM7B as the microphone for the stream, because it just sounds better in my environment. The screen I share for the stream is mirrored between my physical display and a ATEM Mini hdmi input. Now I tried mirroring this mirrored screen via sidecar a third time with an iPad to be able to draw live on the screen with an apple pencil. Surprisingly this worked.

Worked a little bit on my wagtailmedia pull request to add wagtail 2.13 compatibility which is almost done now. Learned about pre-commit during working on this which I think is really cool. Recorded 4 more streams this week and played around with a ntg5 shotgun microphone. Which I managed to set up properly after a few mistakes :). Still wasn't able to fix the "Brummschleife" in my audio setup :/.
