• Mozilla did a new release of their common voice dataset. We are getting closer and closer to the point where it starts to make sense to train speech to text models for german from scratch. I wish I had some more time :).
• Listened to this podcast episode: LOV020 Podcast-Produktion mit Moritz Gießmann - I'm starting to wonder how hard it would be to use django-cast as a backend for the podlovers podcast since it is also not using wordpress anymore. Maybe I have to take a look at this

Worked a little bit on my wagtailmedia pull request to add wagtail 2.13 compatibility which is almost done now. Learned about pre-commit during working on this which I think is really cool. Recorded 4 more streams this week and played around with a ntg5 shotgun microphone. Which I managed to set up properly after a few mistakes :). Still wasn't able to fix the "Brummschleife" in my audio setup :/.

• Listened to to a conversation on clubhouse about the hard problem regarding conciousness - great content, poor audio quality: Listen — Main Conversation with Kevin O'Regan and Joscha Bach
• Podcast episode: „Unsere Vorstellung von Normalität ist ideologisch verzerrt“
• Much acclaimed talk about how to modernize education: Mathematikvorlesung auf den Kopf gestellt - I'm a bit sceptical about the presented concept: First, all new methods could have also been applied to old style lectures, why weren't they generelly accepted already? And second, if the structure of content distribution changes radically, I would expect the content having to change radically too - why stick to old content which was structured by now outdated distribution structure? Well at least it's a start..

Spent some time figuring out how wagtail, wagtailmedia and telepath should work together. Recorded five streams showing me failing to understand it :) (ok, except the last one on friday maybe). Made a really dumb error searching for code in the wrong branch but fixed it in the stream, good. Finally fixed video chooser for django-cast and submitted a PR to wagtailmedia to make it compatible with wagtail >= 2.13. Finally removed wagtailmedia from django-cast. Did some experiments with streaming hardware too: Used a new lens (nikkor 24-70mm s4) to record the stream to get rid of the noises my old lens is making and the unadjustable auto focus which makes it a poor fit for video recording - worked out great.

• Really cool blogpost about how agile failed and we probably should just abandon the term. Disclosure: I was kind of an agile fanboy, but now I suspect that it's more important who does the work than how. This is a little bit sad, because it also means that there's no way to be successful by just following some set of simple rules (to expect this would be enough is of course naive): Agile at 20: The Failed Rebellion

Recorded development progress of django-cast in 5 new streaming sessions (one only with headset and laptop). Found out that multi upload for images included in wagtail is more or less exactly what I want for audio uploads. Made my first really bad mistake by having audio muted for over half of the first stream on monday, but found out how to display audio levels in my atem multiview monitor so that this shouldn't happen again. Update / delete of videos does now work basically. Had a hard time figuring out where exactly the video chooser modal enters the editor when clicking on the chooser (it was in wagtail_hooks.py). But the video chooser is only working correctly with wagtail 2.12 not with 2.13 . Still trying to figure out how to get this thing to work. Tested streaming with mobile setup (HMC 660 + OBS) and failed because I only recorded a corner of my screen, but audio was better than expected.

Tried to get video content to work with django-cast. Stumbled upon wagtailmedia which enables audio and video content for wagtail, but wasn't able to use it directly - tried to steal some ideas though. Only recorded 4 streams this week. Got feedback that it's working better without greenscreen, therefore I'll leave it out for now.
